A Bit About Me
Wesley is a certified Myotherapist & Remedial Massage Therapist. Wes is passionate about his role as a massage therapist and strives to provide high quality and effective care to every one of his clients. Particularly Wesley enjoys assisting clients with stress relief, injuries, and acute and chronic pain.
Wesley has a special interest in biomechanics and understanding how the human body functions. His continued pursuit of knowledge in this field has seen him work at various clinics, gaining mentorship from experienced practitioners, and refining his clinical skills with a variety of different clientele. Wesley has also worked with the Western Bulldogs Football Team, allowing him to develop the skills and experience to create strengthening regimes, recovery protocols, flexibility & mobility techniques, and cupping. Wesley is also adept in the art of sports taping, which he uses as a tool to prevent further injuries or add stability to a region of the body.
Wesley also understands the impact of the daily stresses prevalent in our fast-paced modern lives, and the importance of relaxation massage and techniques in the reduction of feelings of overwhelm, burnout, fatigue and anxiety. Relaxation massage is an incredibly useful tool in releasing stress and tension from the body, and Wesley enjoys being able to facilitate this experience for his clients.
Outside of his passion for massage and body mechanics, Wesley is an avid believer in staying fit and healthy through means of nutrition and exercise. Whenever he can, Wesley partakes in gym and his beloved tennis, which he has played since he was a young boy and continues to do so to this day. Tennis and sports aren't just hobbies to Wesley, they are his passion and therefore he understands firsthand the stress that sports can put on both the body and mind.
Wesley believes that "passion creates progress" and he actively applies this philosophy into his work as a Remedial Massage Therapist, helping everyone he works with along the way.
Wesley is actively working towards furthering his clinical offerings, and will be completing a Myotherapy degree towards the end of 2024.

What is the difference between Myotherapy & Remedial Massage Therapy?
Remedial Massage is more focused on providing immediate relief for muscle tension and general aches and pains. It is beneficial for people who want to relax, relieve stress and general soreness. Remedial massage will incorporate various massage techniques along with cupping to assist with treatment and increase blood flow.
Myotherapy is ideal for people who require targeted treatment for specific issues, such as chronic back pain, sporting injuries, injury prevention and recovery. It is a more focused approach which specializes in treating the underlying cause of musculoskeletal pain and dysfunction. Though, it is also a great choice for pain relief and functionality as well. Myotherapy will also incorporate more clinical assessment techniques like testing a muscle or joints active range of motion, passive range of motion, muscle strength or resistance tests and special tests in order to come to a suitable conclusion on how and what to treat for each individual. Myotherapy treatments will also incorporate the use of various treatment modalities such as Dry Needling, TENS Machine, Mobilization Techniques, Cupping, Muscle Energy Techniques along with various Massage Techniques.
What is an Initial and Standard Consultation for a Myotherapy appointment?
An initial consultation, being a first-time appointment is to really get to know the client and their individual needs. In an initial consult there will be around 10-15 minutes of talking about the client’s history and why they have come to the Myotherapist. This will also entail their goals, both long and short term, what they wish to achieve out of the treatment, what treatment modalities they are comfortable with for e.g., dry needling, cupping etc. The rest of the appointment will be a combination of clinical assessment tests and treatment on the client. Initial consultations will generally last up to about 60 minutes altogether, although may vary more or less depending on each client’s needs.
Every appointment after that will be a standard consultation where there will be less talking and clinical assessment and more treatment on the client. Though it can also vary depending on if anything changes with the client’s condition. These appointments will last for around 45 minutes give or take depending on the client’s needs.
