A Bit About Joelleen
Joelleen discovered her calling working with breastfeeding mothers and newborns early in her career, recognising she
had a natural capacity for postpartum support that seemed to come with ease. With over 15 years of professional
experience and as a mother to a breastfed baby, she brings both expertise and lived experience to her practice.
Having navigated her own early breastfeeding challenges—including nipple pain that required lactation support—and
managed pumping and bottle feeding for daycare days, Joelleen truly understands the journey from both sides. She
especially loves supporting new parents and those who’ve faced breastfeeding difficulties in the past, bringing her
uniquely holistic and modern approach that combines midwifery, naturopathy, and IBCLC lactation consulting.
Joelleen specialises in addressing latch discomfort, nipple pain, milk supply concerns, fast milk flow management,
newborn digestive issues, mastitis prevention and care, and pumping challenges. She also helps with breastfeeding
preparation during pregnancy, bottle feeding strategies, returning to work transitions, and personalised weaning plans.
Her naturopathic background allows her to support breastfeeding and postpartum nutrition from a whole-body
perspective.
What sets Joelleen apart is her open-minded, judgement-free approach—she meets every family exactly where they are,
understanding that every breastfeeding journey is unique. She offers in-home support in Melbourne, virtual consultations
worldwide, and has created resources including her Preparing for Breastfeeding eGuide and Preparing for Breastfeeding
Workshop.
