A Bit About Me
Hi! Thank you for visiting.
My name is Cassandra and I am the clinic co-owner of House of Health in Moonee Ponds; and founder and principal podiatrist of Victorian Foot Clinic.

I graduated from La Trobe University in Melbourne in 2014 with a Bachelor of Health Science and Masters of Podiatric Practice. I completed my clinical training at the Alfred Hospital, Royal Melbourne Hospital and IPC Health Community Health Centre, allowing me to work with a diverse range of patients in both the acute and sub acute health care settings.
My professional working career has allowed me to execute clinical skills in the areas of diabetic foot care, wound care, paediatrics, charcot management, post amputation management, surgery, local anaesthesia, dermatology, podiatric pharmacology and microbiology, musculoskeletal injuries, imaging, orthotic therapy and footwear prescription.

In 2018, I undertook a post graduate placement at Western Health to further develop my podiatry skills in the acute setting. I was then successful at obtaining a seconded position as a podiatrist for the Diabetes Foot Service at Footscray Hospital. Having thoroughly enjoyed working with patients in an inpatient setting; I went on to be the principal podiatrist for Melbourne Private Hospital, Peter Macallum Cancer Centre and Brunswick Private Hospital. I also liase and receive referrals from the Royal Melbourne Hospital Diabetes Foot Unit to provide follow up podiatry care upon discharge from this clinic. After my maternity leave period is due to complete, I will also resume my work in the public health care system, facilitating a High Risk Foot Clinic where I provide wound care, post amputation and Charcot management as part of a multidisciplinary team. I also deliver paediatric care in the sub acute setting and have been involved in the development and implementation of quality projects and initiatives to help improve the delivery of care to my patients.
I regularly undertake clinical supervision of podiatry students during their public health placements, and I thoroughly enjoy teaching. I have delivered community education sessions for those recently diagnosed with diabetes, so that they are aware of the implications that diabetes can have on foot health. I see these group sessions as an opportunity to provide education on how to prevent foot complications associated with diabetes, neuropathy or poor circulation through healthy foot habits and regular screening.

My special interest areas include:
-
Ingrown toenail management and surgery
-
Wound care
-
Diabetic Neurovascular Assessments
-
Wart removal
-
Skin & Nail Care
-
Paediatric footwear

Victorian Foot Clinic is now located here at House of Health in Moonee Ponds; and I am also excited to bring Victorian Foot Clinic services to Maryborough in the Central Goldfields.
